2008 Financial Information
General InformationAll tuition and fees, etc., are payable by the Payment Deadline before the start of classes. Tuition is determined by the academic level of the course and not by the academic status of the student. Auditors pay the same tuition per credit. Students whose Summer School Bills are being paid in whole or in part by non-Georgetown University scholarship must submit the scholarship award notice directly to the Student Accounts Office as payment with their bill (Procedures are subject to change). Short term tuition deferments may be granted in emergency situations. A $60.00 deferral fee will be charged. This fee will be charged in all cases of late payment except when it is due to the delayed receipt of financial aid funds from an external agency or University Department. No prior balances will be deferred. The student must request a deferment from the Student Accounts Office. The telephone number is (202) 687-7100. The deferment must be paid in full by September TBA, 2008. A student who leaves the University, for any reason, with an outstanding debit balance should immediately contact the Student Accounts Office to arrange for payment of the balance. Failure to contact this office will necessitate the forwarding of the account to a credit bureau and a collection agency. In this event, the former student will be responsible for payment of any fees or expenses incurred by the University in the collection of the outstanding balance. Tuition may be paid in cash, by check, authorization, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or online through the Student Accounts Office website. Tuition Information *

RefundsTuition is refundable only when the student withdraws from a course using Student Access+ during the Add/Drop period or when the student completes an Add/Drop Form in the Summer School Office after the Add/Drop period. Refund amounts will be determined by the date on which the Add/Drop Form is signed by the Dean of the Summer School (see schedule below). The student must also submit a request for a refund from the Student Accounts Office at the same time the Add/Drop Form is processed. The request for refund must be in writing either on a Refund Request Form or in a signed letter that can be mailed or faxed directly to the Student Accounts Office. If you fax a letter, please make sure that your full name and student ID number is included. The fax number is (202) 687-1133. Any refund will be computed according to the schedule listed below.*
*This schedule does not apply to Study Abroad Programs. Refunds are not computed according to individual class meetings, but are computed according to the number of days (Monday through Friday) that have passed since the start date of an individual's course. Georgetown University students participating in the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area during the summer will receive refunds of tuition under the same policy and according to the same scale as above. Tuition and fees for tutorial courses are not refundable. Laboratory fees are refundable only within the first three days of classes in a given session. Tuition Scholarships
Partial tuition scholarships are available in limited numbers for Summer School students. These scholarships do not provide for travel, room fees or study abroad and they may not be used for Tutorials or Consortium courses. Georgetown Degree Candidates: Georgetown University degree candidates seeking information about scholarships and other financial assistance for summer study should visit the G.U. Office of Student Financial Services web site or call that office at (202) 687-4547. Applications will soon be available and the preferred deadline is April 1, 2008. Early submission is strongly recommended since financial aid funds are limited.
